Posts will be slow in coming for some time. I'm sticking to my New Year's Resolution (see introduction to this post), and focusing more on painting, reading and rumination. I am, however, working on several essays (including the oft-mentioned one on Art World pranks, but also others on wilderness philosophy, religious fundamentalism, and the transition from modernism to postmodernism). These may not be completed for weeks yet....if at all.

Though this forecast sounds rather dire, you shouldn't expect an end to posts here...just a quiet spell. Languorous, the Hyaena is lying in the shade, letting a full belly do it's thing.

Hey! I'm no dead yet, just very busy with school.

I was thinking that maybe you should find a way to list all your more "complete" and "substantial" essays (whatever that means) somewhere in the sidebar so that they are easier to find.

I've been reading lots of PaulGraham.com essays lately and I realize that longer posts tend to get lost too fast in a blog.

You betcha!

That is an excellent suggestion. When I have the time to figure out which longer pieces are any good, I'll consider such a sidebar, organized by subject matter. Thanks, and good luck with all your school work.

Wilber hasn't informed me...yet. "Sex, Ecology and Spirituality" is like #18 in my reading pile - no exaggeration. The writers I've been tearing through in the past few weeks come from varied camps, but when you're on a particular kick - and right now mod/pomo (in relation to art making, education, human rights, and environmentalism) seems to be mine - they all write about the same damned thing! I'm reading Morris Berman (who charts territory familiar to Wilber), Thomas McEvilley, William Cronon, C.S. Lewis, and a whole bunch of books on the philosophy of landscape design and conservation. It's a fun stew!

And, for the record, cud tastes a little like the inside of your cheek, usually the right one.

So everytime y'all wrote 'pomo,' I thought you had written 'porno'... I was kinda confused.
Just sayin'...
