I love this new picture. I love the sense of depth and how it draws you in at every corner. Congrats!
I read some more of your blog - I'm new to this process, but I find your writings so engaging and I enjoy your thought processes.
I found your comment about losing control but that not being totally unpleasant interesting. For me, so much of life has been about keeping everything under control. But, it has been suggested to me through readings and cherished shrink visits, that "control" is highly overrated. I haven't quite mastered giving up control, but I am getting a good hand on feeling less stressed when I can't be in control. (I'm having lots of time right now to ponder this and consider the benefits!)
Christopher, this is a fabulous piece! I also just spotted my first red-wing blackbird a few weeks ago. I wonder if my inkling about where this painting might be headed in the near future is correct...
Nice painting. I almost commented a couple of times, but they kept sounding corny. Good sizzle. Nice conflation of near/far. Love the area with the blackbird against the yellow & green.

my goodness that is beautiful!
Since I saw my first red-winged blackbird in the wild last week as well, that's more than perfect timing. . .

I'm glad that you've been granted some pondering time. Control is tough to let go of, though...I'm guessing we'll both need plenty of practice. ;)
