Do-gooder Bono

Whenever I see Bono, the famous front-man for the rock group U2, I flush with angry resentment. I sometimes spew invective and berate nearby Bono fans.

All this focused rage begs the question, “What do you have against Bono?” To tell the truth, I’m not exactly sure. I usually cite his ubiquitous, ridiculous sunglasses or his holier-than-thou attitude, but these complaints only explain so much. The fact is, Bono’s interest in humanitarian projects is sincere and, unlike most celebrity spokesmen, he actually leads the charge to beat back that which he deems wrong and unfortunate.

In fact, he's so devoted to humane economic development that he was recently nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Now, the Bush Administration may nominate him to be the next president of the World Bank. Given the vast impact of World Bank policy and initiatives, I imagine I wouldn’t be so red in the face were Bono to be selected for the job…assuming he’s made to take off those bloody sunglasses.

(Bono is also sure to thoughtfully consider environmental measures and, as the relationship between a sustainable economy and a sustainable ecosystem becomes more clear, having such an individual at the top of the World Bank should do some good.)

Dude, I am so with you. Bono drives me up the wall. I think his ego has gotten so bloated that he thinks its his fucking duty to humanity to help those who arent multi-millionares. Him and Angelina Jolie should get married, and have a gay baby more obnoxious then them. Great blog, homeboy
